Eid Mubarak!
On June 29, we held the Eid prayer at the Nagoya Gaishi Forum. On behalf of Imam Ahmad, who is absent this year due to Hajj, we had two Young Muslims leading the prayer and giving a Khutbah.
First, the two explained how to perform the prayer in Japanese, English, Indonesian, and Arabic.
In the following prayer, the beautiful voices reverberated through the hall as the Imam boy recited the 87th and 88th chapters of the Quran.
In the Khutba, it was explained that the greeting “Assalamu Alaikum” is considered a du’a wishing the other person not to be harmed by anything. At the same time, it is also a statement of fact that one will not harm the other person. May all Muslims around the world sincerely express this greeting, thereby bringing peace to the world.
Unfortunately, the annual distribution of sweets from the mosque was cancelled this year. Due to the fact that nearly all of the sweets we had prepared were gone during the prayer. We are sorry to the many children who were looking forward to it. We never want this to happen again.
