Eid Mubarak!

On June 5th, over 2000 brothers and sisters celebrated and offered the Eid prayer at Nagoya Civic Assembly Hall.

Before the prayer, young Muslims from SYM Masjid Nagoya (A gathering of Young Muslims at Masjid Nagoya) delivered a message from the Masjid in Arabic, English, and Japanese. It was a message of gratitude and appreciation to the many brothers and sisters who worked hard and helped in preparing Iftar, and cleaning after every meal. It was also reminded that inconsiderate actions of some Muslims are damaging the relationship between the Masjid and its neighbors. May Allah protect us from harming others. May Allah allow us Muslims to be of benefit to Japan and the world. May Allah enable us to show non-Muslims and young Muslims that Islam indeed is a beautiful religion.

The Imam delivered the Khutbah after prayer in Arabic, English, and Japanese. It was mentioned that we must keep working hard even after Ramadaan has ended, and the fact that we should appreciate and not forget the blessing of being able to celebrate Eid here today was stressed. He also mentioned that we must not harm people around us, and reminded the importance of fasting during the month of Shawwal.

For children, the Masjid prepares snacks and candies as gifts. Young Muslims in junior high school and high school kindly helped out, as they do every year, in the distribution, saying “Eid Mubarak” one by one to the small children. May Allah reward them abundantly.

Every yen gathered as Zakat-ul-Fitr today will be sent to Palestine. May this be a means to relieve the sufferings of our brothers and sisters in hardship.
