8 years have past since the Great East Japan Earthquake. “Gathering to Commemorate Earthquake Victims and Pray for Recovery of Disaster-stricken Areas” was organized by Catholic Nagoya Diocese in Nunoike Catholic Church. Countless worshipers across religions gathered for the event.

At 2:46pm, the time of the earthquake, all those attended offered a moment of silence. A Shinshu Buddhist Monk then recited a Sutra, Catholic and Protestant clergymen offered prayers, and the Imam of Masjid Nagoya recited Quran and Dua.
After 8 years, over 50,000 people still live in evacuation centers. We pray for a fast recovery of the disaster-stricken areas.
